Keep Pickens Beautiful, formerly Citizens for a Clean Community, was founded in 1989.  It was started by a group of concerned citizens striving to develop a clean and beautiful environment for Pickens County.  As part of the Keep America Beautiful Program, KPB seeks to improve our quality of life by eliminating litter through increased public awareness.  A key part of the waste “reduction” is “conservation” – using natural resources wisely and using less than usual in order to avoid waste.

KPB: A History

KPB has been serving the Pickens County community for more than 30 years!

Our current focus is to continue benefiting the community in whatever ways we can! We hope to work with coordinators to help with recycling efforts at festivals and events. We look forward to working with more local businesses to assist with reducing their landfill-waste by increasing their recycling

But mostly, we can’t wait to meet you! We are working with people like you to increase education and awareness about how every little bit helps! We are going to continue sharing educational opportunities for you and your family to have fun while expanding your environmental awareness.

Let us know how we can work together!

At KPB, we want you to know about us, to join us, and to do your part.  Every one has a role! We can all learn to REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE.  Georgia’s Litter It Costs You program has adopted the Georgia Brown Thrasher as a mascot.  “TRASHER” is here to remind you to put litter in its place, and to encourage you to get involved.

We invite you to browse some of our material and to find a spot to plug in with KPB. Call or e-mail and we will find a place just for you!
