Green Ribbon Award-Sept 2015

Methodist Church 9 2015

SEPTEMBER 2015 KPB GREEN RIBBON AWARD

Goes to the United Methodist Church of Jasper.

Keep Pickens Beautiful is pleased to present the Green Ribbon Award to Jasper United Methodist Church, 85 West Church Street in Jasper, GA

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle is one of the attributes of the United Methodist Church. The church bell was hung in the Steeple Tower back in 1870, and still welcomes the community to worship. The cross was made from the original wood that was not burned in the fire of the old church. Some of the brick was also saved and now supports the bell.  The Steeple Tower Bell was rededicated on May 11, 2014.

Pastor Greg Meadows and Master Gardeners Linda Waitsman and Barbara Ledford do a wonderful job of maintaining the gardens around the church.

KPB wants to thank the Church for its efforts in preserving its history by reducing, reusing and recycling .If you would like to nominate someone to receive KPB’s Green Ribbon or Green Thumb Award, please contact our office at 706-253-3600.
